Legionville is a safety educational center offering quality instruction in school safety patrol methods and areas such as swimming, canoeing, first aid.

What is

Legionville?

Legionville Educational Center was established by the Minnesota American Legion in 1956 for the purpose of training young people in the correct school patrol procedures. School safety patrol crossing and bus training have always been the primary focus of the camp, but this has been expanded to include additional safety classes and tons of fun in the great Minnesota outdoors!

2024 Camp Registration Is Open!

Make the most out of summer with programs that enable kids to get outdoors, meet new friends and learn lifelong skills. Campers may be sponsored and tuition paid by an American Legion Post, School, other Community Organization, or an individual such as a parent/guardian.

  • What is Legionville?

    Legionville is a safety camp offering basic First Aid, Canoeing and Swimming safety. Legionville also offers awesome camp experiences like our Talent Show, bonfires, Norwegion kickball and Tug-O-War.

  • Who can be a camper at Legionville?

    Any child ages 10-13 can register to be a camper at Legionville. Campers DO NOT need to be in a Safety Patrol Program to come to camp. Campers can come to learn about swimming, canoeing, First Aid and bus safety and still have an educational experience without being a Safety Patrol Officer.

  • When is check-in and when can I pick up my camper at the end of the week?

    Campers attending their assigned session should make every attempt to arrive on the designated Sunday between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM. (Do not arrive before 3:00 PM as the camp staff will not be available for check-in before that.) Please make sure daily medications and canteen money are in hand during check-in. Departure or check-out from Legionville is scheduled from 11:30 AM until 12:00 noon on Friday. For this or any other concerns regarding arrival or departure, please feel free to call Legionville at 218-270-3108. Parents, guardians, sponsors, drivers, etc. are encouraged to come to Legionville on Friday for our camp graduation ceremony at 11:00 AM. Following the ceremony, campers will be free to check out with you to return home.

  • What age are the campers at Legionville?

    Campers are typically between the ages of 10-13 for our regular sessions.
